Abstract: | Murshidabad and Dhaka had three types of embroideries: the chikankari white cotton thread embroidery; silk embroideries (kashida) earlier done in Murshidabad by Jaina families; and the embroidery on square scarves (rumals) used by Muslims. Dhaka also produced excellent embroiderers who were earlier rafoogars (darners) of the famed Dhaka Jamdani saris and Dhaka muslin. Source of Abstract: Provided by Publisher |
