| Abstract: | The authors argue that the Indian state's unwillingness to discourage foreign private investment has been a crucial factor in the continuing injustice in Bhopal. The aftermath of a noxious gas leak in which thousands of people were killed after inhaling methyl isocyanate (MIC) is examined. Both the Dec 1984 lethal gas leak from the Union Carbide Pesticide plant & the ensuing legal struggle to make the corporation accountable stand as witness that global corporations can violate basic human rights in the Third World.
