Jamaican Bluespike(Stachytarpheta jamaicensis)

Flower: 0.8-1 cm across; Flower spike: 10-30 cm long. Native of Tropical America, naturalized in India, SriLanka. Gregarious and common along stream banks, roadsides and degraded habitats. Prefers forests on the plains and on hills up to 1400 m. It’s flowers are very attractive to butterflies. Food plant for Death’s Head Hawkmoth. Flowering: October - April
